Cleaning trapped resin in blind holes

Have you ever printed, washed, and cured the perfect part, only to find out that there was trapped resin in your small blind holes and now they're permanently cured and clogged? We've been there before 😅

We recently had to print a production volume of parts that had several standoffs with small blind holes. Instead of washing them multiple times and blowing them with compressed air, we discovered a really easy way to ensure they always came out clean and wanted to share that trick in this video 💪

By simply using a small allen key to push trapped resin out, we were able to ensure clean parts every time out of the IPA wash station. Trapped resin prevents IPA from getting into the hole due to surface tension and viscosity of the resin. By forcing the majority out using a physical tool, it allows the IPA to get into crevices and clean the hole properly 🔥

We used to use a squeeze bottle and compressed air, but the former is messy and the latter can create some ear piercing sounds perfect for damaging your hearing. Since discovering this method, we've never gone back 🙂

If you have trouble with trapped resin in small holes that aren't getting cleaned, be sure to give this method a try 👍
