Why does it say sold out?
Each plate is handmade and the entire process is very time consuming. Because we juggle many different things at Ember, we take orders in “drops” that happen several times a year. This helps us maintain the other parts of our business while keeping control over when we can sprint to make custom plates for everyone.
Why do you take pre-orders?
In order for us to offer so many plate sizes, we need to batch material orders so we don’t get left with tons of inventory. Every production run we will update this page with expected timelines.
What is the expected production schedule?
Orders placed in the July 2025 batch will ship by the end of Oct 2025

Why does it take so long?
We handmake every plate and need time to fulfill current orders and batch future orders before buying plate materials. The lead time for getting textured plates into our workshop is around 4 weeks. We then need to process the artwork and deal with any back and forth with customers that may be required. Lastly, we need time to do the actual coating, packing and shipping.
Will it be like this forever?
No. Our goal in the future is to be able to fulfill your orders in 2-4 weeks time but we may need to develop some additional automations and work with an external partner to achieve this and we are unsure exactly when that may happen.
